Tried This All-Purpose Oil-Enriched Hair Serum to Tame Frizz, Protect from Heat, and More

When beauty products promise to do it all, I’m always a little cautious because I feel like they bite off more than they can chew. I approached L’Oreal Paris Extraordinary Oil Serum with that same sense of foreboding. Filled with flower oils, it also promised to be lightweight and non-sticky while addressing almost any hair concern, from protection against heat damage to deep nourishment. It sounded amazing but almost a little too good to be true. So what did I do? I put it to the test.

Packaging of L’Oreal Extraordinary Oil Serum

The serum comes in a sturdy glass bottle containing 100ml of product. This is a yellow tinted clear glass bottle with a plastic dispenser that twists to lock in place which is a nice way to secure it without a cap. From the outside itself, it has a premium look and its overall feel confirms that fact. It is suitable for all hair types and its price is around Rs 499.

Using L’Oréal’s Extraordinary Oil Serum

A single pump of the serum is enough to smell its fragrance; a blended floral scent that is quite strong. It not only smells great in the palm but also transfers to the hair so that the hair has a fragrant scent for a few hours. It is suggested to be used in several ways, from before washing to after drying to pre-styling. It worked perfectly for me during the styling and drying process. When heat styling my hair, a few drops of serum helped control the process better. I even ran a few drops through my hair right after styling and the shine was immense. On days I only air-dried, a few to damp hair was enough to find it smoother with less frizz. I tried it as a nourishing agent before washing but the difference was not apparent. The most noticeable way it affected my hair was how it smoothed and softened it; it’s like frizz and flyways don’t exist. Having an oily scalp, I was cautious about how it would feel, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was light, non-oily and like I wasn’t wearing anything at all. Too good to be true might just be the truth with this hair serum.

What Swirlster Says
