While the Indian monsoon brings us smiles for a variety of reasons, one of the biggest beauty issues of the season is high humidity and what happens to our hair because of it. Frizz, oily roots, split ends and dull hair make you feel like you’ve got a bird’s nest on your head.

Here are some DIY hair pack recipes to tame your hair without spending a bomb.

Eggs to the rescue

Add 1 tablespoon of castor oil, 2 tablespoons of honey and a beaten egg yolk to form a smooth mixture. Apply it liberally to your hair from roots to ends and let it sit for 20-25 minutes. Then rinse with a mild shampoo.

This blend treats dry, frizzy and brittle hair as the eggs are packed with frizz-fixing antioxidants while the presence of fatty acids nourish the follicles. Honey keeps hair conditioned. Castor oil acts as a natural conditioner and fills in damaged areas of strands.

Coconut Magic

Here is another easy to make hair pack that can effectively improve hair health, leaving it soft and smooth. Add ½ tablespoon of olive oil with ¼ tablespoon of coconut milk and form a smooth paste. Apply it to your hair and cover it to soak up the benefits. Wash off with a mild shampoo.

Coconut milk is enriched with vitamin E and damage-fighting fats while deeply conditioning your hair. Olive oil is known to moisturize hair strands and bring dull hair follicles back to life. baking soda and a little water. Mix to form a smooth paste. Apply this mixture to your hair and rinse with a mild shampoo.

Avocado is rich in fatty amino acids that help hair retain its natural moisture. Baking soda clarifies the scalp and ensures the maintenance of a good pH balance. These ingredients help accelerate hair and scalp health.

Protect with protein

For damaged hair, mix 1 tablespoon of honey with yogurt for a smooth mixture. Apply this on your hair and let it stay for a while. Rinse your hair with a mild shampoo.

While honey is very well known for helping with hair issues, yogurt is packed with protein that can prevent hair damage and even reduce split ends. It also naturally conditions the hair, making it soft and shiny.
