Calm down: 5 ways to control frizzy hair

We all want smooth hair all year round. But extreme summer weather brings hair-frizzing heat and humidity. Add to that hours at the pool, a few weekends at the lake, and a few too many hours in the sun, and your hair can get completely unmanageable.

Bring your hair back to its relaxed state by using one of the following home beauty solutions to remedy frizz. Each is natural and simple to make.

1. Hair cider vinegar rinse

Apple cider has a high level of acidity. The acid in the vinegar will help calm your hair and also make your mane shinier.

What you have to do: After washing, shampooing and rinsing your hair, cover it with vinegar. Let the vinegar sit for 30 seconds and rinse it off with cold water. Condition normally.

2. Avocado and olive oil hair mask

Avocado and olive oil are excellent hair moisturizers, and the fatty acids in avocado can also tame frizzy hair.

What you have to do: Mash the avocado and add a little olive oil. Whisk the two ingredients together. After shampooing, spread the mask on your hair and leave for 30 minutes. Once it has penetrated, rinse the mask. To get rid of the smell of the mask, condition your hair as you normally would.

3. Raw egg and olive oil hair treatment

Egg yolk contains a ton of fats and proteins, which are very hydrating, and egg whites contain enzymes that kill bacteria and remove excess oil. Olive oil keeps all the “desired” moisture in your hair.

What you have to do: Whisk a raw egg and mix it with a spoonful of olive oil. Let this treatment sit on your hair for about 30 minutes before washing and conditioning your locks.

4. Coconut oil treatment

5. Anti-frizz hair mask

Take 1/2 cup of honey, 1/2 cup of yogurt and 1 tablespoon of almond oil from your kitchen. Combine all the ingredients together. Once everything is well mixed, massage your hair from roots to ends. Let the mixture sit for 20 minutes then wash the hair as normal.
